🏃‍♂️ In the News: Shoe Controversy at Jackpot Ultra

In a surprising turn of events, Rajpaul Pannu’s record-breaking win at the USATF 100-Mile Road Championship was overturned due to a controversy surrounding his shoes. Cody Poskin has now been crowned the new champion. Pannu, who also won the 2024 Jackpot, with a time of 11:58:01, was an absolute class act about the decision. His inner scorecard seems to be in check.

Jian Springer put on an impressive performance, winning the women’s division and landing 3rd overall with a time of 15:29:05. That’s a 9:17 pace for those wondering.

The New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro V9 (holy mouthful) is out, and it looks like it’s a solid upgrade from the V8. I’d be interested to try them out.

As for my pick, I tested nine (yes, nine) different trail shoes before ultimately choosing the Nike Pegasus Trail 5. This time, I opted for the GTX option.
